SPRING TROUYOUT DATES:

Baseball Conditioning begins: 3/12/18
All other sports: 3/17/18

SPRING REGISTRITION WILL BEGIN ON FEBRUARY 1, 2018!

The registration database for anyone trying out for spring sports at THS or TMS is will open on February 1.  To register your child and find the proper sports medical forms please visit the athletics page of the Tolland High School or Tolland Middle School websites and click on the "Athletic Participation Registration and Forms" tab.  Upon successful submission of your registration you will receive a confirmation email from FamilyID notifying you that your child has registered.

Beginning with the fall 2017 sports, in order to register your child the "pay for participation" fee must be made online using a credit or debit card.  This portion of the registration process has been added to FamilyID and you will be directed to it as you complete the registration of your child.  In the event that your child does not tryout for the team he or she was registered for or they do not make the team after tryouts a full refund will be credited back to the card you have used to pay the fee.

To turn in updated physical forms to the nurses office at either school you have several options.  You may attach a PDF version of the completed physical form when you register your child online.  You can deliver a hard copy to the school's main office.  You may also fax or mail the  forms directly to the respective school.

Please note that registration database for the 2018 spring sports will close on Monday, February 26th and late registrations are not accepted.

Should you have any questions about the registration process please feel free to call Todd Zanczek at (860) 870-6827.

Concussion: Signs and Symptoms
A concussion is not a structural injury and there is no protective equipment to date that will protect against a concussion.  Concussions are cerebral injuries resulting in a disruption of the nerves, cells and chemicals within the brain.  This process is called a metabolic cascade and is manifested in the development of signs and symptoms listed below.

A concussion is caused by a blow to the head or body resulting in a manifestation of signs and symptoms including, but not limited to:

Headache                                 Confusion         Difficulty remembering or paying attention

Balance Problems                     Dizziness          Feeling sluggish, hazy, foggy or groggy

Nausea                                     Vomiting           Slowed reaction time

Bothered by light or noise         Double or blurry vision

Loss of consciousness               Feeling irritable more emotional or “down”

If you suspect that your son/daughter has sustained a concussion, please follow up with your Athletic Trainer, School Nurse or Doctor.
